Easter

Lizzie's first Easter was a bust.  We had planned on attending church, having a nice lunch and going to the park to take pictures.  However, because I was sick and Liz didn't feel good, we stayed home and napped on the couch all day.  Not that napping on the couch together is a bad thing ;)  We change Liz into her Easter dress and went outside to take a few pictures.  Liz feels better but I am still sick.  Guess I will be heading to the doctor :(

What's in the basket?

6 Month Photos

Today we took Liz for her 6 month photos.  She did great.  I was a little nervous about the appointment.  Was she going to be serious Liz or smiling, giggling Liz?  We lucked out and she was all smiles.  Just adorable.

YUM!

Liz has started to play with her feet regularly.  She really enjoys sucking on her toes - it's similar to a thumb, right?

Those feet don't have a chance to run away

I love my big toe
We decided to introduce rice cereal today.  She did well and ate about half of the bowl.  No big messes but not sure if she likes it.  It is hard to believe our little girl will be 6 months old next week.

Snow

We got our first 'big' snow of the season this weekend - 2 inches.  It started snowing Friday and throughout the day on Saturday.  The majority of it melted Sunday.  My Mom bought Lizzie a sled, so I bundled her up and we went out to play in the snow before it was gone.

I am having so much fun!

Elizabeth's Baptism

Grandma and Grandpa Davenport, Isaiah, and Jim came up this weekend for Liz's baptism.  Saturday, the boys went to see a movie and the girls went shopping.  We met up for dinner at Maggiano's to celebrate my parents 35th wedding anniversary.  Sunday, Liz was baptised.  This is a very special time for us and we are thankful we our family was able to attend.  Cruising grandparents were in our thoughts and prayers.  After her baptism, we enjoyed a cake I made and began make Super Bowl snacks.

January - where have you gone?

I can't believe how fast time is flying. Liz is 21 weeks today.  So hard to believe.  A few weeks ago I had my first business trip since baby.  Andrew, Liz and Jack home alone.  I knew it was going to have to happen, but it didn't make it any easier.  I took a video of Liz on my phone so I could watch and listen to her babbling.  I called home so I could talk to her before she went to bed.  This was Andrew's first experience waking her up and putting her to bed.  Getting her up is easy.  He had a rough time getting her to bed.  She was screaming for Mommy a long while before she would give up and fall asleep.  He is going to put her to bed at least once a week to make it easier when I travel.  I will be traveling in February and March.
She loves standing up and looking around.  She can almost sit by herself and is working on rolling over.  No rolling yet, but getting close.  She giggles and smiles more frequently and it melts your heart.

Some misc pictures for your enjoyment.

Pouty Face - I am ready for bed!

Lizzie's First Christmas

Lizzie had such fun on her first Christmas.  Grandma and Grandpa D drove up from TN to spend Christmas with us.  We got up early to open presents.  Liz's sat in my lap and I opened up her presents with a little help from her.  Her favorite was red tissue paper.  She received many great gifts and thanks everyone for their thoughtfulness including Santa.  After gifts we cooked french toast.  While I was cooking, Grandma and Grandpa M called from French Harbor.  We enjoyed chatting with them and hearing how they were going to celebrate Christmas.  We attended the afternoon Christmas mass which Liz napped through.  It was a great first Christmas with Liz and hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as we did.
